Associate

Simon joined the firm in 2020, after several years of practicing law in Toronto, gaining a diverse range of experiences.

Simon practiced with a reputable firm specializing in labour and employment law. Prior to that he was a law clerk at the Federal Court of Canada for the Honourable Justice Roger T. Hughes for the 2014-2015 term and for the Honourable Justice Patrick Gleeson for the 2015-2016 term. Simon also articled at a law firm specializing in litigating subrogated property damage claims.

Simon is now happy to be practicing primarily in family law, where he applies his critical thinking, problem solving and litigation experience to assist clients with resolving a broad range of family law issues, including, but not limited to, custody and access, child and spousal support, and property division and equalization. Simon also assists the firm’s clients in Wills and Estatess.

Simon learned from being behind the scenes at the Federal Court that often the best result for a client would be to resolve a dispute without ever stepping into a courtroom. Simon takes a practical approach to generating creative solutions and resolving disputes.

While Simon prefers to use his knowledge of the court system to obtain a settlement, Simon will also apply that knowledge to advance and protect his clients’ rights and interests through litigation.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, nature walks, literature, theatre, and exploring the surrounding region with his wife and their dog Marbles. Simon is also a proud volunteer with Big Brothers and Sisters of Waterloo Region.

Simon is a member of the Shades Mill Law Association (Cambridge), the Waterloo Region Law Association, the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations, as well as the Law Society of Ontario.
